In 1973, Frank Frazetta painted something no publisher asked for. The result was "Death Dealer," a horned executioner astride a black warhorse, eyes burning out of a face the legendary artist would never reveal. The image immediately outgrew the canvas: Molly Hatchet carried it onto their debut album, the US Army's III Armored Corps took it as their emblem, and Frazetta originals have since shattered auction records, becoming the most valuable fantasy artwork ever sold. The original Death Dealer was never auctioned and remains in the Frazetta family vault for over fifty years, priceless because by definition you cannot buy it. For the first time, it's now available as a 2,000mg 24-karat gold Aurum.

Few paintings have escaped the art world as completely as Death Dealer. Molly Hatchet put it on their 1978 debut album and it became the unofficial face of Southern rock’s heaviest era, staring out of record bins for decades. The US Army’s III Armored Corps adopted the phantom rider as its mascot — soldiers wear him on patches, statues stand at the corps HQ in Fort Hood. He’s spawned novels, comic books, and fifty years of tattoos, van murals, and metal album knockoffs by artists chasing what Frazetta caught in a single canvas.
Death Dealer has now been printed on 24-karat gold, a medium that matches the myth. Double serialization, individually numbered, this is the version you leave to somebody.

Each Aurum is double serialized, with one unique serial number on the bill, and one on the certificate of authenticity, or COA. Each COA is sequentially numbered, so you'll know which you got off the production line of our mint.
The serials on every COA are protected by FIPS-compliant holographic, tamper-evident seals. The Aurum bills have the same embedded anti-counterfeiting tech found in the Swiss franc. In short, there's never been a more protected gold collectible or art print.

Frank Frazetta
Frank Frazetta, born in 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, emerged as one of the most influential illustrators of the 20th century. He launched his remarkable career at just 16, illustrating for comics such as Buck Rogers, before earning global acclaim for his evocative science fiction & fantasy pulp covers, including the iconic Conan the Barbarian and Thongor. Known as the “King of Illustration,” Frazetta’s work defined an era of fantasy art, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire millions of creators across generations.
