Choose options
Physical golden bills for your safe or wallet, made with a precise amount of real, 24-karat gold. Secure, gorgeous, collectible, and functional.
Real, beautiful gold
Protected by dual layers of flexible polymer, this is a thin layer of 24-karat gold uniquely processed to impart intricate design.
Meaningful amounts
Some gold bills include only a tiny fraction of real gold. We only mint bills with a substantial, functional, and tangible amount.
Valued and usable
In certain US states, gold and silver can be used as a legally-recognized exchange of value in everyday transactions.
MetalMark golden bills are Aurums, the proprietary product by Valaurum, Inc. protected by international patents.
Aurums are the world’s most advanced, trusted, secure, and circulated gold bills. There is no second best.
Easily recoverable
Atomic deposition creates thin layers of fully & easily recoverable gold, unlike foil or plating. Any jeweler can assay (melt) it back into a 24-karat gold button within seconds.
Lowest premiums
This is a labor-intensive, highly refined gold product, but our premiums are the lowest possible over the spot price of gold. There is simply no better value in fractional gold.
Stack gold in style
Every bill has intrinsic value that will rise with the price of gold, and each bill is a work of art. But this isn’t just gold, it’s art+gold, and it’s the most beautiful way to stack.
Thoughtfully designed, double-sided, fractional gold bills in easy to understand amounts conducive to stacking and barter. At the lowest premiums in the space.
Standard amounts
We use the metric system to identify the amount of gold in each bill, in whole numbers and easily divisible and convertible amounts.
Standard sizes
With only two physical sizes of bills depending on the denomination, compatibility is ensured between accessories and ATMs.
Standard utility
With low premiums, Standards are the most cost-effective fractional gold that exists today. The gold standard, you could say.
A bold denomination shows the amount of 24-karat gold in the bill, measured in milligrams.
Massively intricate golden linework, guillochés, and other trade secret design elements create nigh insurmountable hurdles for counterfeiters and other bad actors.
A variety of indicia designed to evoke curiosity and convey deeper meaning in the art. The closer you look, the more you'll see.
The back of our bills are intentionally designed to feel like a mirror of the front while still having readable and clear denominations.
A standard feature on all MetalMark bills, we include relevant details about the gold content, series, artist, year minted, and more.
Intricate symbology is carried over from the front. This dual-sided design offers greater strength, durability, and luxe.
Every MetalMark bill comes with a Certificate of Authenticity printed on super-thick 32pt 100% post-consumer recycled cardstock.
In a first for collectibles, our COAs utilize FIPS-compliant, holographic, and tamper-evident security seals.
Various additional details about the bill are recorded. These are also present on the bill's obverse.

Iconography in design
Symbology
MetalMark’s ethos is heavily embedded in art and creativity. The bills we put out are intended primarily to drive value for their owners, but to also start conversations about the nature of money itself, and exist as an innovative artistic experiment.
Atomic properties
Taken from the periodic table, the atomic properties of gold are visually represented, including the symbol, atomic number, radius, electrons, neutrons, and more.
The odd looking formula is the electron configuration of gold, while the orbital diagram represents the atomic structure.
Latin phrasing
These bills are Aurums, which is taken from the latin word for gold. This is paired with another latin phrase conveying the nature of gold.
For the 500mg Standard, it’s “Auro ignis probat,” or “Gold is proved by fire.” Pictured here on the 1000mg Standard, “De caelo ad terram” translates to “From Heaven to Earth.”
Nanocrystals
Gold and many noble metals can form as icosahedral nanocrystals. These are symmetrical nanoparticles that have very unique properties at this nano scale.
For the Standards, we include a nod to these as these nanocrystals can absorb and scatter light, creating vivid colors.
Philosophy
A subtle and inspirational message that underscores why one would want to collect gold, the 1000mg design says “One atom forged in light to shine for eternity,” a reference to how gold is created in nature.
The 500mg bill conveys “That which is useful is that which is valuable.”
Supernova anchor
Gold is made by nature in the roaring furnace of massive stars, usually in neutron star collisions or supernova explosions. These apocalyptic events on a celestial scale eject gold atoms as stellar debris, scattering throughout the universe until they get trapped by gravity and become part of the mass of newly forming celestial bodies (like earth).
We give this fantastic origin story center stage on both our Standard designs.
Tycho Brahe
The famous astronomer Tycho Brahe made groundbreaking contributions to his field — before the invention of the telescope. He was able to measure the positions of stars and planets with the highest precision at the time, helping to lay the foundation for future celestial laws.
We celebrate his contributions by incorporating his diagram of a supernova he found in 1572, proving for the first time that the heavens were active, or alive. It was previously believed that celestial bodies were essentially immutable.
Historical glyphs
Throughout human history, gold has been considered valuable and useful, and nearly every culture has placed within it a high degree of importance.
Many different symbols and glyphs have been used to talk about gold, or concepts adjacent to gold accumulation, like taking care of your family, business, or building wealth for your future.
