General
In short, we are long on gold. Our thesis is based on the long-term purchasing power trend of the dollar against the long-term rising value of gold. In our view, we are trading our inflationary fiat dollars for hard, sound money with gold.
Given past gold performance, if we are patient, we will perform beyond break even at melt. That’s not hard math with a long-term horizon.
One milligram of gold in a Standard Aurum is pegged to the spot price of gold, which is a unit we label . In other words, 1 means “1mg of gold in an Aurum.”
We take the spot price of gold in milligrams and multiply it by 1.9. That’s it.
This is an important question and you’re right for asking it. Here’s the short version:
- Our cost begins at the spot price of gold
- We buy the gold at spot, then we manufacture a new product with it
- This product has anti-counterfeiting measures that solve the problem of fraud in bullion-based transactions
- We cannot operate as a treasury. We must operate as a business, and thus must make a profit to exist

Yes, and any all Standards are accepted here, regardless of denomination.
At this time, we’re only accepting Standards in this program. However, we also have a Market where we’ll hold your Aurums in escrow and sell them on our site on your behalf. The proceeds to you are comparable.
Pricing & payment
In general, no — we need to keep strict controls over the prices and fee structures for all programs around the Standard to maintain integrity.
We will generally remit payment for your bills through PayPal. For large transactions, contact us to discuss options.
We typically remit payment to you within 3 business days of receiving your Aurums. Including the quote with your order will ensure we can work as fast as possible.
Nope. We must obtain possession of the bills and verify them before we will remit any payment. We cannot front any portion of the value of the bills prior to receiving them, nor will we be liable for packages lost in transit.
Sending us product
Nope! You don’t need to ship us the Certificates of Authenticity for your Standards. We’re phasing those out for that line, but will retain them for our limited edition Aurums.
At this time you are responsible for any charges for shipping or insurance for the products in transit to us. We’re not liable for damages or loss in transit, so insuring the package and using a reputable carrier is highly recommended.
